Awhile offer a select range of walking holidays in
the heart of the Kent Countryside of England, within 50 miles of London and commencing all year round. |

walking holidays have been designed to meet the needs of
a wide range of abilities and can be adapted to suit specialist
needs. Average distances travelled per day are 10 miles walking, but can be extended for the more
ambitious.

Walking
holidays - Pilgrim's Way, North Downs Way
Walk Awhile's Walking the Pilgrims Way walking holiday commences from historic Rochester
Cathedral (only 45 minutes from London) and finishes at the magnificent
walled city and Cathedral of Canterbury. A large part
of this walk follows the route documented by Hillaire Belloc in his book The Old Road, which was taken by pilgrims in the
middle ages. This walking holiday follows the North
Downs Way National Trail, and enables the walker to
discover
the hidden secrets of this ancient county of Kent.
This walking holiday along the North Downs Way takes
you
through some of the oldest and finest villages in England.

Via Francigena extension
The Walking the Pilgrims Way tour can be extended by 3 days to take walkers from Canterbury to Dover. At present Walk Awhile follows the route through the Elham vallley and along the White Cliffs to Dover, passing a wealth of historic sites along the trail.

Rural Kent Tour
This walk has been designed to help you discover the
true heart of Kent, its countryside, history and local
crafts with special attention paid to the orchards,
vineyards and hop-gardens. This circular walk detours
to find the nooks and crannies of the county seldom
visited by tourists or casual traveller. You are invited
into the heart of Kent and its fascinating backwaters.

Walking
the White Cliffs’ Tour
Discover the Elham Valley as you
walk from Canterbury to the White Cliffs of Dover,
then follow the Saxon Shore Way along the top of the
White Cliffs enjoying the wealth of history connected
with medieval castles, Iron-age camps and Napoleonic
Forts along the trail. This tour can be extended
into a circular walk to take in the Roman gateway to
Britain at Richborough Castle before following the
Stour Valley Trail back to Canterbury. More
