Walking Holidays in the UK

North Downs Way and Pilgrims' Way

Our hiking & walking holidays have been designed to meet the needs of a wide range of walkers abilities, and have flexible start dates for convenience.  Average daily distances walked are between 10 and 14 miles, but can be reduced for those who prefer a steadier pace,  or extended for the more ambitious.  Routes can also be combined to cover a greater distance overall.  You can choose to start and finish anywhere on the 153 mile trail.   Luggage transfer is arranged and checked for you, daily support is available to help you with local knowledge.  We can arrange holidays for solo travellers, friends and relatives, and for groups of up to 6 people.

All self-led holidays come with daily tracker support and include

luggage transfer,  and an information pack with marked up maps and a guidebook, as well as quality ensuite inn, hotel and guest house accommodation.

Walk Awhile is a family run business established in 2002.  Based in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are committed to operating a Sustainable Travel Policy that is supportive and in sympathy with local communities and the environment.  We do not use, or promote services, that are detrimental to the environment.  Customers are advised where they can purchase locally produced food and produce along the route and encouraged to use local services.  All customers are encouraged to use public transport to access the start of their holiday.

We are proud to have been awarded the Green Tourism Silver Award since 2006

All holidays include arrival and departure days, overnight accommodation prior to starting your walk and on arrival at your destination (e.g. a 6 day holiday includes 5 nights accommodation, and 4 days walking).

Walk Awhile Luggage Transfer.jpeg

Rest assured that all of your luggage will be transferred to your overnight Inn or Hotel by fully licensed, local, taxi companies.  We check that luggage has been delivered leaving you to focus on the trail ahead.

Local Inn, Hotel & Guest Houses Bedroom

We have gone out of our way to make sure that all the Inns, hotels and Guest House accommodation we use welcome walkers. You will find them to be friendly, with comfortable bedrooms. All bookings include breakfast.  Most inns and hotels have restaurants where we can book you a table for the evening meal if you wish or recommend somewhere locally.

You will be sent a guide book, information pack and marked up route map on payment of the final balance.  We will also recommend a GPS link for your phone to follow the route.  While you are enjoying your walk the tracker will check that luggage has been collected and delivered.  They will be available at the end of the phone should you have any questions during the day.

Equality & Diversity

We are fully committed to equality, diversity and inclusivity.  This means we do not tolerate unfair or illegal discrimination from our suppliers, partners, or service deliverers.  We strive to support and welcome all, regardless of faith or belief, and to accommodate any special dietary requirements, including vegan and any specific religious needs.  Please see the 'About' section for information on accessibility
