General Data Protection Regulation 2018

WalkAwhile is a family run tour operator, established in 2002. We are registered at Companies House as a limited company and our registration number is 04253580. Our registered address is Applegarth, South Street, Boughton Under Blean, Faversham, Kent ME13 9PE

We are committed to storing any personal information you share with us securely, and we will never sell or trade your information with third parties.

We will request the following information from you to complete your holiday booking – full names, postal and billing address, telephone number, email address, and the full names of anyone travelling with you. This will be kept on our customer database and used only for the purposes of processing your booking and getting in contact with you. The database is only visible to members of the WalkAwhile family team, and to our named external web consultant. We will ask your permission to add you to our email promotional list. We do not send marketing materials by post.

To secure accommodation for you we will share the lead person’s name (usually the person responsible for making the booking) with the accommodation provider. Some of our accommodation providers require address details for the lead booker, and we will provide this information via their formal channels on request (this may be to comply with Covid-19 policies).  For larger parties it is usually necessary to give the names of each traveller to assist with room allocation.

You are entitled to remove information we hold about you. Should you wish to access or remove your data please email walk@walkawhile.co.uk – for the attention of Mandy Bright.

We either transport luggage ourselves or use trusted taxi companies, and in the latter case we will need to share the name of the lead person to ensure correct identification and transport of luggage.

We take every step to make sure your data is held securely and confidentially. Should a data breach occur we will contact you by email within 72 hours to notify you that this has happened. We will give a complete explanation of the breach, how it happened, what data was breached, the steps taken to remedy the breach and any steps you need to take.

If you are kind enough to share photos of your holiday with us for our Facebook page, we will only publish these with an accompanying note of the general location or walk where the photograph was taken. We will not publish your names or any other identifying information unless you specifically request this.

For any further information about our Privacy Policy please contact Mandy Bright at walk@walkawhile.co.uk
